DB-Veddige Varberg quick 3-0

With tough serving and patience in the lon rallies, RIG B won an easy 3 setter.

Today's match up against Veddige Varberg looked to be a tough win after a dip in the second set. However, a 16 point run by RIG with Maja Heden at the service line, put a stop to Veddige's momentum quickly.

Set 1 began well and with out a hitch. RIG targeted their front row attackers and the libero from the service line. This match saw a different block defense with the team opening line on Veddige and having the wing defense back down the line. It proved to work well through out the set. RIG also got a big boost from player Klara Juneholm with a 5 point serve run with 3 of them being aces. Final score, 25-14.

Set 2 went the opposite direction, giving Veddige a leg up momentum wise. This set, the opponents came out swinging and dared more. Their setter put the ball to the middle multiple times on tight balls, which frazzled RIG's. With a few points distance between both teams, RIG was able to tie up the set at 10-10. From there, RIG began to play much more together in receive and cover. Towards the end of the set, Veddige gave many points away with unforced errors, opening an opportunity for RIG to take advantage of the situation, which they did. Ullrika Blomgren turned up the heat in attack and fired off 9 total attack points in the set. Final score, 25-19.

Set 3 went quickly and with out much happening on court. After some back and forth in the beginning, Maja Heden went back to serve 16 straight points with help from the block and RIGs attackers. This is not to say she did not make any contributions herself, Maja rattled off 6 aces to help keep the serve run alive. With a small dip after the serve run, RIG put the pressure on and took the set. Final score, 25-12.
